Melissa Chalmers – Executive Director
A 20 year brain aneurysm survivor, Melissa has been a huge advocate for the Joe Niekro Foundation for many years and is passionate about helping other survivors. Melissa is a seasoned business executive and her background includes a strong history of consistent success in monetization, marketing, business development, financial analysis, project management, data analysis; and developing systems, processes, and procedures to streamline corporate operations, increase revenues, and enhance profit performance. Melissa has brought her corporate expertise to JNF to help grow and expand the foundation’s efforts. Melissa currently lives in the San Diego area with her husband and two dogs. She is a long-time vegetarian and dog lover and in her spare time, she enjoys traveling, creating new vegetarian recipes, and practicing hot yoga.
Joanna Nicoletti – Events Manager
Joanna Nicoletti graduated from The New School University in New York City with a degree in Psychology. She began her career working within the non-profit sector as a residential counselor and slowly began transitioning into development and major events. Joanna relocated to Singapore where she worked with several organizations on events management, fundraising campaigns, strategic alliances, vendor negotiations, donor management, community management and on-site event execution. She was an active member of The American Women’s Association of Singapore and held a board position as Social Chair. Upon repatriating back to New York City, Joanna worked with the American-Italian Cancer Foundation as their Development and Program Associate playing an instrumental role in executing their annual gala, which raised over $1.4 million to support the organizations programs. Joanna currently resides in North Carolina and in her spare time, is an active member of her local running group, has completed the NYC Marathon, has a passion for hot yoga, and is an avid traveler.
Anneliese Sparks – Social Media and Communications Coordinator
Anneliese Sparks is the Social Media & Communications Coordinator at JNF. She holds a Communications degree and comes from a digital marketing background. She started her career at LiveOnNY, an organ procurement organization, where she worked extensively on their Hate the Wait campaign. She expanded her digital marketing knowledge as a Marketing Associate and Social Media Manager for SEMrush and as a Content Writer for The Krazy Coupon Lady. She has a passion for keeping up on the latest digital marketing trends, whether it’s social media, content marketing or SEO – she loves it all. Anneliese is proudly from the Detroit area and in her free time likes to camp, take film photography and watch Detroit Tigers baseball.
Ronica Ingram – Patient Advocacy Program Manager
Ronica Ingram is the Patient Services Program Manager at JNF. She grew up in the small town of Valliant, Oklahoma. After high school she attended Oklahoma State University and received her B.S. in International Business with a minor in Marketing and Spanish. She has spent the last 9 years in non-profit management with a focus on volunteer and event management as well as development. During that time she also received her M.S. in International Business and Economic Development. She and her husband enjoy the sport of baseball and spending time with their family. They are a blended family and have 4 beautiful boys together!
