The Knuckball has been Postponed due to Hurricane IKE It is with great sadness I write to all of you today. As everyone is aware, the city of Houston was struck with a major tragedy this past weekend. Hurricane Ike has left thousands without power, water, food and homes. This is a time when the city needs to rebuild, come together and reshape the devastation that has occurred. For this reason, we have chosen to postpone The Knuckle Ball...a Pitch for Life. We are currently in the process of securing a later date and will be in contact with everyone once that date is set. Given the circumstances, the foundation simply does not feel right holding a black tie gala when there are so many hurting people across the state of Texas. I hope you can all understand my position and will be able to attend the rescheduled date (we are working on Spring 2009). Your sponsorship dollars will be re-applied and all ticket purchases will be good for the future date. Thank you for understanding and we will be in contact with the new date within the next week. God bless the city of Houston and all the families affected by this disaster. Natalie Niekro

Why Us?

The Joe Niekro Foundation was established in 2007 in honor of the founder’s father, Joe Niekro, who lost his life from a sudden cerebral brain aneurysm on October 27, 2006. The astonishing lack of public awareness and under-support of research of such a widespread and often fatal condition led to the launch of a crusade to educate and encourage awareness about aneurysms.
