IF YOU CAN’T GIVE MONEY, PLEASE GIVE YOUR TIME

2011 is off to a great start.  Just this morning, The Joe Niekro Foundation received news that we are in the running for a $250,000 grant from The Pepsi Refresh Project.  For the past four months, we have been attempting to submit our idea for approval, and January is our lucky month.  Pepsi is giving away a total of $1.3 million each month to  various ideas in the areas of health, arts and culture, food and shelter, the planet and education.  Thousands of people have submitted ideas in attempt to secure a grant ranging from $5,000-$250,000.  The Joe Niekro Foundation idea is in the running for the $250,000 grant category and we need your help to make this happen!  The idea with the most votes wins…its that easy.

Our Pepsi Refresh Project idea “Help STRIKE-OUT Aneurysms by bringing awareness to this silent killer” has been approved, and is up for voting on Refresheverything.com

You can vote three times everyday, so please start spreading the news to your friends and family and have them vote for our idea on http://www.refresheverything.com/strikeoutaneurysms.  You can vote once via the above link, once through Facebook (which the installation app is on the profile page in the link listed above) and once through a text vote by texting 105539 to Pepsi (73774)

You can also download the Pepsi Refresh Project App for the iPhone or Android. Voting ends the last day of this month so there’s no time to lose.

Please, please, please help us secure this grant which will be used to create scientific symposiums across the country benefitting aneurysm education.  Plus this grant will also be used to help us push our Wanna Get Lucky? initiative.  You can read all about the idea here http://www.refresheverything.com/strikeoutaneurysms (make sure you select the $250,000 ideas and then find ours.  Thank you so much for your support. This will be a daily effort so please help us each day this January!

When you link to our idea, you will also be able to see where we are currently ranked in the voting process.  Lets blow this out of the water and get EVERYONE we know to help.  These funds are crucial, so please just take a few minutes each day to cast your vote on the site, Facebook and through a Text.

We appreciate your support and thank you so much.
